When planning your visit to the Lithuanian Sea Museum, we kindly encourage you to plan your journey in advance and take possible traffic congestion and ferry waiting times into consideration. During the peak season, queues may form at the ferry terminals, so we recommend arriving earlier!
ARRIVING BY CAR
If you are traveling to the Lithuanian Sea Museum by car, access to Smiltynė is via the New Ferry Terminal.
New Ferry Terminal address:
Nemuno St. 8, Klaipėda
Please plan your journey responsibly: if traffic congestion occurs near the ferry terminal, waiting times for the ferry may be longer than usual, so additional travel time should be anticipated. Please also note that the number of parking spaces near the museum is limited. Whenever possible, we recommend arriving via the pedestrian ferry.
ARRIVING BY PEDESTRIAN FERRY
Please be informed that due to reconstruction works at the North Cape area, traffic restrictions will apply on Danė Street, in the section from Pilies Street to the Curonian Lagoon, from May 25 to November 30, 2026.
During this period, the specified section will be closed to both pedestrians and vehicles.
Visitors heading to the Old Ferry Terminal will be redirected via an alternative route through the “Memel City” building complex (map provided below).
UPDATED ADDRESS OF THE OLD FERRY TERMINAL
Please note that the official address of the Old Ferry Terminal (North Cape) has changed.
Previous address: Danės St. 1, Klaipėda
New address: Ernesto Galvanausko Boulevard 1, Klaipėda
Important:
• The ferry terminal location remains unchanged – ferries continue operating from the same location at the North Cape.
• The navigation app “Waze” already recognizes the new address.
• Changes are also gradually being updated in Google Maps.
• Entering the previous address will, in most cases, still direct you to the correct location.
The map has been provided by the Klaipėda City Municipality.
Thank you for your understanding, and we wish you a smooth journey to the Lithuanian Sea Museum!
